I recently hiked to Annapurna Base Camp and purchased your Annapurna Base Camp Map. I am working on a fairly detailed map of the trek for placement on a web site for free download and printing but am not satisfied with the accuracy of the base map provided by Delorme. Where can I get a more accurate base map in digital form? One I can download, hopefully for free and I wil not get paid for what I am doing. I don’t need anything but topographic data including streams. I GPSed the trek. I’d appreciate your help!

I can’t undestand how the 3 km of the graphic scale of the map (release june 2016) measure 7.8 centimeters (3,9 km). The correct ought to be 6 cm.
It’s really the MAP scale 1:50.000?
The grid of the map neither helps to get the scale because the sheet is divided in 4×7 cells in order to locate places crossing columnes and files referens.
Maybe the on-line way to discover the real scale will be working on the geographic coordinates, but this is not an easy way as the grades don’t measure the same length along all the Earth surface (our planet is not an sphera, the projections UTM…). On the map 5 minutes from west to est measure 14,8 cm and 2min 30 seconds from suth to north measure 8,3 centimeters.
